Nodar Surguladze

Tertiary Education Project Director

Nodar Surguladze served as the Tertiary Education Project Director at Millennium Challenge Account-Georgia since October 2012. Currently, he holds the position of Tertiary Education Project Director at Millennium Foundation.

During 2008-2012 Mr. Surguladze served in the capacity of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and was supervising Higher Education and Science in Georgia.

Prior to joining the ministry, in 2006-2008 Mr. Surguladze was a Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biological Physics and in parallel, worked at Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University administration, in the Department of Scientific Research and Development.

Mr. Surguladze is educated in Georgia, he holds Master's degree in Biophysics (TSU, 1995) and PhD in Molecular Biology (2001, Academy of Science of Georgia). In 2002-2005 Mr. Surguladze did his postdoctoral research and in 2008 was a visiting Research Scholar at College of Medicine in Pennsylvania State University, USA. He is the co-author of more than 20 scientific publications in various scientific journals, author of an intellectual property and during 2004-2006 years had been a member of various international scientific societies.

Nodar speaks Georgian, English and Russian languages.
