The National Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) Awards 2021 announced

The Millennium Foundation has announced the competition for the National TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Awards 2021.

The competition, which has been initiated by the Millennium Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, has been announced for the fourth consecutive year. The traditional general sponsor of the Awards is Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation.

New categories have been added this year and the independent jury will reveal winners in the following five categories:  TVET Program of the Year (accredited), TVET Short-term course of the Year, TVET Student of the Year, TVET Teacher of the Year and TVET Business Partner of the Year.

Magda Magradze, CEO of Millennium Foundation, His Excellency Mr. Ran Gidor, Ambassador of Israel to Georgia, Zurab Kervalishvili, Director of Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation, Giorgi Amilakhvari, the First Deputy Chair of the Education and Science Committee at the Parliament of Georgia, the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and other invited guests attended the announcement event, held at college "Mermisi".

"We are very excited that our initiative that started four years ago has now become a tradition. The aim of the TVET Awards is to promote vocation education and help it position as an important component for country's economic development and improve its image among private sector representatives and general public. By identifying successful organizations and individuals in this sector, we are showcasing the best practices and successful reforms in vocational education to the public in order to increase awareness about the importance of vocational education", - said Magda Magradze, CEO of Millennium Foundation.

The Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation has been a general sponsor of the event since the beginning. "We are happy that the not only the number of contestants increase every year, but the number of organizations and donors that support TVET image in the country, which contributes to the sustainability of the project. We hope such awards will increase the motivation of students to acquire demanded professions and get employed successfully. Qualified workforce is important for the economic development and competitiveness of the country. We hope the Ministry will put more emphasis on improving accessibility and quality of vocational education and private foundations, like ourselves and other donors, will support them in these efforts", - declared Zurab Kervalishvili, Director of Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation.

The online applications for TVET Awards 2021 can be submitted at the foundation's website: https://millennium.org.ge/geo/aplication_122. The deadline for the submission of applications is 28 May 2021. The winners will be revealed at Gala Awards ceremony to be held in fall 2021.
