Sakpatenti hosted the winning team of the Millennium Innovation Competition "GoGeoGo"

The team GoGeoGo consisting of students from Akhaltsikhe Public School N:1 is the third-place winner of Millennium Innovations Award 2020 which developed an easy-to-use mobile app for transport schedule information in Georgia. To celebrate the victory, Sakpatenti management held a meeting with the team members and the representatives of the Millennium Foundation.

The purpose of the meeting was to provide the team members with detailed information on invention, obtaining a patent and going through the patent application procedures at Sakpatenti, as well as to receive the prizes set by Sakpatenti. On behalf of the agency, Deputy Chairman Nino Chikovani presented personal computers to GoGeoGo members.

"Promoting innovative activities is one of the priority directions of Sakpatenti as a policy-making agency in the field of intellectual property. Therefore, Sakpatenti has always been actively involved in the Millennium Innovation Award competition, participates in the evaluation of the projects and the selection of winning teams, and has been a member of the competition jury for the second year in a row. The agency also conducts trainings in the field of intellectual property for all teams participating in the competition, which is an additional incentive for the contestants to create new and interesting projects, "- said Nino Chikovani, the Deputy Chairman of Sakpatenti.

"The Millennium Foundation has been actively cooperating with the Georgian National Intellectual Property Center for many years. The aim of our collaboration within the Millennium Innovation Award is to increase the interest of young generation to create innovative projects and, most importantly, to teach students the international standards of intellectual property rights during the implementation of projects. The participants of the competition receive detailed information about the intellectual property, invention, patent, their application and patent application procedure directly from Sakpatenti employees," - commented Magda Magradze, Executive Director of Millennium Foundation.

The Millennium Innovation Award has been implemented since 2014 with the financial support of the US Embassy in Georgia and aims to foster innovation and new technologies among Georgian youth.
