The National TVET Awards 2022 Launched

The Millennium Foundation has announced a competition for the 2022 National TVET Awards.

"The 2022 National TVET Awards has been announced for the fifth consecutive year. Applications can be accepted until May 31. The aim of the TVET Awards is to increase the image of vocational education and identify the best examples that exist in the vocational education sector in Georgia today", - said Magda Magradze, CEO of Millennium Foundation.

The winners will be announced in five main competition categories and also, two special prizes will be awarded by the Parliament of Georgia and the Skills Agency Georgia.

"The vocational education is one of the main priorities of the country, as it is the shortest way to employment and the driving force of our economy. For this purpose, the Parliament of Georgia has been involved in this project and we have established a special award, which will be given to those colleges who have a well-established practices for inclusive vocational education", - said Giorgi Amilakhvari, Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

The National TVET Awarda is being held for the fifth time this year at the initiative of the Millennium Foundation and is traditionally supported by the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation.

"Supporting vocational education is one of the priority directions for the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation. It is the fifth year that we are funding the National TVET Awards and we are delighted to see the improvements that come with the recognition of the teachers, students, or various colleges and programs. An indicator of the success of the project is the change in the attitude of the society towards vocational education. All this is a motivation for the foundation to invest more in this direction and to make other donors and the private sector willing to become partners in the project and vocational education in general", - said Zurab Kervalishvili, director of the Gudavadze-Patarkatishvili Foundation.

In 2022, the winners in the following categories will be revealed and awarded:

- TVET Program of the Year

- TVET Short-term course of the Year

- TVET Teacher of the Year

- TVET Student of the Year

- TVET Business Partner of the Year.

- The Special Prize by the Parliament of Georgia - Inclusive Vocational Education

- The Special Prize by the Skills Agency Georgia (in the following sub-categories: TVET International Initiative, TVET Instructor, TVET Regional Supporter, TVET Campaign and TVET Entrepreneurial Initiative)

The deadline for the submission of applications is 31 May 2022.
