2026 Millennium Innovation Award Finalists Are Revealed

On July 16-17, 2026, the semi-finals of the Millennium Innovation Award were held. 28 semi-finalist teams presented their innovative project ideas to the jury.

The jury selected ten finalist teams. The finalist teams will receive funding to create prototypes of the submitted projects. And in the fall of 2026, the final will be held. The teams that advance to the final stage will present their prototypes to the competition jury, the jury will evaluate and select the winners of 2026.

The aim of the Millennium Innovation Award is to identify teams of schoolchildren who present innovative projects in the fields of technology, engineering and natural sciences (STEM) and thus promote the interest of young people in STEM fields.

The competition is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), Liberty Bank, Lineate Georgia and other partners of the competition.

The project was initiated in 2014 as part of the second compact of the U.S. Government Millennium Challenge Corporation, with funding from the U.S. Embassy. The competition is implemented and funded by the Millennium Foundation.

HPR (Homegrown Propulsion Rocket) - Eco Rocket

Ecorocket

The goal of the project is to create an environmentally friendly, "green" rocket engine, to test it and substantiate the possibility of its use, to replace the environmentally polluting practices of the space industry with a new standard.

Hydra - Hydra

The goal of the project is to create an innovative, smart biotreatment system that provides perfect filtration of water through living organisms.

Kinara - Kinara

AccessKey Inclusive Adaptive Keyboard

 

The project aims to provide an innovative solution for inclusive customer-centric technology that helps ensure equal access to digital resources, increases the degree of independence, and improves users' engagement in daily, educational, and professional activities.

MENMO (Mental Motion) - MENMO

Creation of an exoskeleton based on squid filtration of diatomite-ferrofluid nanocomposite and ideomotor signals for everyday use.

 

The goal of the project is to create a lightweight, safe, and portable assistive device (exoskeleton) for any limb that people with stroke and spinal cord injury will use in their daily lives.

 

MineGuard - Mine Guard

The goal of the project is to constantly receive the necessary information from complex underground facilities and solve several complex cases at the same time.

Phonon - Phonon

Application of Concentrated Sound Waves in Cutting Technologies

 

The aim of the project is to introduce an innovative functional and low-energy-consuming device that we have already created, which carries out clean and accurate processing of materials under water and on land through concentrated sonic (ultrasound) waves.

SynaptiX - Synaptix

SynaptiX is an affordable multifunctional EMG bracelet for the assistance of individuals with neuromuscular and neurological disorders

 

The goal of the project is to create a multifunctional and technologically advanced electromyographic (EMG) bracelet SynaptiX, which aims to help individuals with neuromuscular and neurological disorders, improve their quality of daily life and increase independence.
