On May 31, San Diego State University - Georgia hosted the 2022 Commencement Ceremony at Shota Rustaveli National Theater. This year, San Diego State University's programs have 160 graduates in Georgia, 45% of whom are women. 54% of current graduates completed their studies with honors.

"Today, the graduates were awarded with an internationally accredited American bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering, chemistry / biochemistry, and computer science. San Diego State University in Georgia is the result of a collaboration between the US and Georgian governments. As a result of the $ 64 million grant, more than 700 Georgians will be able to receive an American education in Georgia without leaving the country," said Magda Maghradze, CEO of the Millennium Foundation.

The academic delegation from San Diego State University, led by the President of the University, Adela de la Torre, visited Georgia especially for this ceremony. This year, Adam Day, a member of the California State University's Board of Trustees, also visited Georgia to attend the ceremony.

The event was attended by 2022 graduates, their families and invited guests from San Diego State University, the representatives of the Government of Georgia, the US Embassy in Georgia and the Millennium Foundation, project partners, rectors and administrative staff of the partner Georgian higher education institutions (Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Georgian Technical University), San Diego State University-Georgia Supervisory Board Members and Public-Partnership Fund Donors.
